A Warm Welcome

A Warm Welcome

Hey there. My name is Chantelle and I am the newest member to Warehouse Dating as the new Marketing and PR Assistant. I have been asked to write a blog, however I have no idea where to start as I have never written a blog before. This is all new to me. I could ramble on about my life but honestly that’s a bit boring and no one wants to hear that anyway. So I thought I would tell you a little bit about my first few days here and what I have learnt. As well as what we do here.

My First Day:

As I arrived at my office I was greeting by smiling faces and enthusiastic waves. For a monday morning I was very surprised by this! (At previous workplaces many people have had the monday morning vibe). I said my hellos and shook everyone’s hand and was shown to my desk. I had my own work laptop with a second monitor with mouse and keyboard, as well as my own mug! (Warehouse Dating is very big on recycling so instead of plastic cups which each have our own coloured mug to start saving the planet. Mine is yellow incase you were interested, so there is always sunshine at work). I felt very welcome. :). I was paired with my reunited friend who was going to train me for the day. He started off by showing me what I will be doing with the articles people send in, how to edit them, make the pictures and then upload it to our sites. I was all very confused to start with as I have never done anything to do with marketing before, I’ve only ever really had experience in customer service. So this was something new and exciting for me. After watching a few be completed by my new colleague, It was my turn. Luckily he still sat by me and guided me through to my first article! I was quite proud of myself. I did a couple with more guidance then I was left to my own devices. The time flew by and before I knew it it was home time. I finished up my work and tidied my desk. I exchanged my goodbyes and headed home. I’m really enjoyed day one, I’m going to like it here 🙂

With A Little Help From My Friends

Over the next few days I staggered forward on my own with help from my new friends. That’s also something I want to mention. How lovely and hilarious everyone is here. I cannot express how amazing the team is here and what a privilege it is to work with such an amazing bunch of people! I hopefully will make some amazing memories and am looking forward to doing my part for the team. So far I’m asking a lot of questions as I’m unsure what I need to do, but everyone is being so nice and helping me. We have a daily tick sheet which I have been working on so eventually I will actually be able to tick everything off everyday instead of the off one here and there. The tasks themselves aren’t exactly hard but I feel a little useless taking so long on such a little task. But I have been informed that I’m doing well and things will get easier.

I think I have now rambled on enough about my experience here and you’ve enjoyed reading it. If you want to ask me anything please don’t hesitate. I am happy asking any questions you may have.

I am now going to continue playing work bingo and I hopefully this blog has earned our team a point!

Over and out 🙂
